bloesem blog

Wow, how cool...today one of my favorite blogs, Bloesem, featured our Love Letters Collection. If you haven't bookmarked Bloesem yet, I think you should.
Founder and Editor Irene Hoof, who calls herself a "collector of all things beautiful" created Bloesem in December 2006. Leaving her hometown Amsterdam for the first time in 1997, Irene roamed the globe for a couple of years making stop overs in London, New York and Toronto. A graphic designer by trade she now lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with her husband Rik and two sons, Lode and Kiet. From her home office ( overlooking a bamboo garden) she writes this blog to bring outside-the-mainstream daily finds to her readers. ( Of course she has a slight bias for Dutch design.) Read, then bookmark. Enjoy!

The Letters of Love...
We are about to release a beautiful new collection called BINTH Love Letters! I am so excited about this new line and wanted to give a quick peek behind the curtains here...
Read More »'tis the season ... and our note pads are back!

Friends, I am very thrilled about this: our new BINTH Note Pads are here! In 2 practical sizes, 3 stunning colors and 9 fantastic designs....I think I got us covered.

When you go to the site to take a look, don't be fooled by the fuchsia designs, every note pad cover comes in three color styles...sky blue, iridescent and fuchsia. ( It's just that the fuchsia shows the best on a web site. ) All 3 cover stocks are absolutely gorgeous in color and texture. Hope you will love these as much as we do.

Coming Soon—BINTH Studio + Store
Today I want to share some big news...
We are opening our very first BINTH Store. Yes, we found the perfect space right on Madison Street in our beloved Forest Park. Our building is an old Masonic Meeting Hall with 15 feet ceilings, large windows and beautiful old beams and brick walls. We are very excited and can not wait to open our doors to you.
In addition to our own collection the BINTH Studio + Store we will also feature the work of select other American and European designers. Simply put: we will sell things we make and things we love.
We are still in the middle of the renovation, but I will start posting updates during the following weeks. Please mark your calendars now for the Opening Party on Thursday, December 1, 2011.See you there and hey, bring the kids!

Show. Tell. Share.

Calling all BINTH BABY BOOK families!
I am thrilled to announce our very first Binth Baby Book CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS. (And with that our very first ever BINTH Give-Away!)
We are asking all of you BINTH fans and families to “show off” your BINTH Baby Books. Share it with us, show it to the world and tell us all all about it. Tell us the name of that special someone your book is all about. Tell us who gave the book to you or where you found it. ( Our book is available at select cool retailers across the States + Canada, we would love to know where you got yours...) What are your favorite pages? Which one was the most fun to fill out? Hey, we'd even like to know what kind of pens you used. Or did you find a calligrapher? Tell more, tell all...
Why? Because we want to feature YOUR books on our website. And here on our blog. But most of all, we want other families to see how you did it. And of course, we want to reward you for sharing...and tada! here comes the Give-Away part:
The adorable scourge of the internet kingdom
Please click on this: Cool Mom Picks/Cool Mom Tech They just posted a feature on the Pixel Dragon from our "BINTH Friends Collection." I love their writing style. Seriously fun!
One-Of-A-Kind Prints...
We just posted a whole new collection of One-Of-A-Kind-Prints. And the best thing? Besides from being truly original? They now come framed! Needless to say that I heart these prints. And yes, they are truly one-of-a-kind.
It always takes us a a lot of time to select them, to name them and then to frame them-but I think they are magical. I love them grouped in a kid's room or a study. Or as a personal statement in an office...endless possibilities. I hope they all find good and happy homes with you out there...

Black Friday? Sure! Colorful Saturday? Cool!

Cool! This Saturday we will be at the West Walker Holiday Fair in Irving Park. Our friend Sarah Stedman is one of the organizers of this event...she has started the community garden in this hood-a lush vegetable garden that supports the soup kitchen of the local church. You will find an amazing and fun group of artists and designers. Please stop by and shop for something beautiful all the while knowing, that you are supporting not just your local designers but also a very good cause. See you there...
FRIENDS. A new collection of prints...
Our "BINTH Friends" are here! A very cool collection of ready to hang prints. Based on our all time favorite BINTH designs- these are ten little characters in sturdy frames. Jarek helped set up the stillife's below...and I can tell you for sure that "Fancy Doe Girl" and "Prancing Miss Poodle" are not going to make it to his room. "Pixel Dragon" and 'Sunny The Lion" on the other hand are already up there...
"Very Wise Owl", "Sunny The Lion" and "Pixel Dragon" and our beloved Elephant ( Manhattan Toy Company)
A match.

BINTH on Bloesem
Nice little mentioning on design blog Bloesem posted by editor Irene Hoofs...She recently redesigned her blog-I love this little elephant. Thank you Irene.

A flurry of cool shows coming up. 'tis the season!
Let the season begin: our first of 4 exciting Holiday shows will be held this week. We got invited to be part of Chicago's Junior League 39th Annual Holiday Market...thanks to our friend Chrissie Bonaguidi that is. Stop by and visit-we will be right on Michigan Avenue in the Chicago Cultural Center with our latest designs.

Shine. Shine on!
Here the latest photos of our first collection of soy wax candles...I am seriously addicted to "Wanted" and "Fresh." Yet "Curious" remains the bestseller. I finally photographed the "after the fire" : use the tumbler as a pencil holder or a fancy little drinking glass once the candles is "burned down." ( As usual: thanks for pointing that out Bonnie!)
"Wanted" by BINTH. The ever tempting scent of fig.

"Fresh" by BINTH. Olive & Verbena. Pure and perfect. Before. And after.
